I can't speak for anyone else, but what most impresses me is that either Banksy or someone from their team had planned to place the completion in the zone, which is already home to notable military officials of yesteryear. The exact dimensions of the piece align with the spot it was dropped off sometime this past Wednesday night. The piece, which places its subject in danger due to the flag covering its presumably proud face is not only exciting but timely. Its incognito drop-off is merely a fraction of its lore.

Message Behind the Art

The piece speaks for itself, and it's message feels increasingly timely. Here in the States the Voting Rights Act has recently been gutted. Those who voted in this current administration are seeing the fruits of their labor: war, poor international relations, and suppression of the People. Banksy's bravery and talent will continually pulse for centuries to come. Perhaps the same can be said for those the piece is about as they are actively choosing a disturbing side of history.
